Alba's Obituary

ALBA CONSUELO MIRANDA PRIDAY was the sixth child of 10 born to Carlos Santos and Martha Beatriz in a village outside of Siguatepeque, Honduras, May 6, 1957.  She attended grades 1-3 in a country school, then the family moved to town for her to go to 4th grade. Her mother took her children to Catholic Mass each week.  Under the influence of her oldest sister, a nurse at a Christian hospital, Alba was saved at the age of seven in a revival held at the hospital.  The Pridays were neighbors for two years and Leslie and Alba became very good friends.  Later she moved to the capital and studied law in the National University.  After not seeing each other for eight years, the Lord used unusual circumstances to bring Alba and Leslie together again.  She had started attending a small Southern Baptist Church and was asking the Lord to show her the right church to join.  Leslie’s father Harold Priday baptized her.  They were married by Leslie’s Father in 1988.

She was preceded in death by her mother in 2009.  She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Leslie Priday, her three sons: Zadick Steve, Halbert Loyd, Edgar Daniel and his wife Alexandra, two beautiful granddaughters Aly who is almost 4 years old and Samantha who is 2 years old, her father Carlos Santos Miranda, her nine siblings: Elsa, Enma, Arturo, Carlos, Donaldo, Amparo, Profilia, Ada, Digna, many nieces and nephews and Harold and Lena Priday.   She loved her family very much and served as a homeschool teacher, stay at home Mom, took care of her mother and father in their sicknesses.  She loved plants and flowers very much; especially orchids, roses, and anthuriums. That was her hobby.   Leslie is always tripping over them or hitting his head on the hanging ones.  She learned to be a wonderful cook.

Alba loved to serve the Lord. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church since 1988. On furloughs, she always traveled with Leslie.  She loved to teach the children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.   She organized the Ladies Conferences that we had until COVID and was a vital help in the organization and operation of Youth Camps.  The ladies and girls looked to her as a counselor and second mother.   And of course, she was her husband’s, Leslie, advisor and counselor.  In the United States, she loved Weatherford’s First Monday and going to garage sales.

Alba was recognized in her death by two prominent television stations - one in the capital, Tegucigalpa, and the other in Siguatepeque.  She was personally known by both announcers for her national contribution. She was very active in national projects through the Lions club.  Leslie and Alba were national officers of the Lions club presenting the Gospel through every available opportunity.

Alba Miranda Priday went home to be with her Lord approximately 4:58 A.M. Saturday, December 10, 2022.   She will be immensely missed by all her family and friends.

Lena Priday’s Obituary

On the morning of October 5th, 2023, Lena Sue Duncan entered the presence of the Lord. She had been recently hospitalized in Siguatepeque, Honduras.

Lena was born to Edgar and Nora Duncan on October 15th, 1942 in Redmond, Oregon. She became a follower of Christ as a child. Harold and Lena were married for 62 years. She served alongside her husband as missionaries in Honduras for 50 years. She devoted her life to serving local churches, developing children’s ministries, training teachers, and teaching hundreds of children.

Lena is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings - Floy, Virginia, Leroy, Carol - and her daughter-in-law Alba. She is survived by her husband Harold, her children Leslie, David and Litza, Melissa, Nathan and Eliza; her grandchildren Zadick, Halbert, Edgar, Lenis, Asael, Adriana, Noemi; and great-grandchildren Aly, Samantha and Judah; as well as, her siblings Glen, Harold, Sharon and Harvey along with her nieces and nephews.

Lena loved hosting and cooking for family gatherings. She delighted in sunflowers, orchids and roses. Lena devoted herself to a life of diligent service to her Savior from her youth and in her beloved Honduras - where she yearned to finish her race and be buried. God was pleased in answering that prayer with a long, fruitful race. Certainly, Lena was welcomed to the presence of Christ with, “Well done, good and faithful servant…enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

Don and Flo McMillan
Missionaries to Brazil - Retired

Obituary - Donald Beckton McMillan

Donald Beckton McMillan, 77, went home to be with his Lord on October 22, 2016. He was born on November 2, 1938. Mr. Don McMillan was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church. He was a retired Missionary to Brazil in South America. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Florine McMillan; two sons: Michael D. McMillan and Mark David McMillan; four daughters: Melissa, Michelle, Melody, and Mindy; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

Donald Beckton McMillan was born November 2, 1938, in Greensboro, Alabama. Having felt God calling him to a life of Christian service he entered Arlington Baptist College. Upon completing his studies, he received a Bachelor of Science degree on May 13, 1976. On June 27, 1976, Don was ordained to the Gospel ministry by Worth Baptist Church. That same year he was formally approved by the World Baptist Fellowship missions committee for missionary work in Brazil. Two years later, Don and family went to Brazil to begin their ministry there.

During these years of ministry, much has been accomplished. Many have heard the gospel of saving grace, received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, and been baptized. Two local churches have been established with many growing up in the faith. Sunday School teachers and men who can preach have been taught and trained to do the works of the Lord Jesus. Bible School, and Home Bible Courses have been used to help many in their spiritual growth.

Many have been saved and have grown spiritually because of the camp ministry. Preaching points and help to others in the ministry have resulted in souls being saved and growing in grace.

In 1984, the Don McMillan family became affiliated with the Independent Baptist Fellowship International and have remained faithful to mission work. Don and Flo have 6 children.

Flo is currently residing in Tennessee.  She continue to be active in ministry here in the States and as a help to the works in Brazil.

Don passed into glory on Saturday, October 22, 2016.
